This policy explains how EIBP collects and uses personal information when a family applies, is offered a place, onboarded, or pays fees. It covers children, parents and guardians.

What we collect

  • Application: child’s name, date of birth, nationality, city, programme, start date; parent names, relationship, phone, WhatsApp, email, address; emergency contact; languages; previous school; allergies, diet, medical and support notes you choose to give; reasons for choosing EIBP; visit preferences; optional identity and school documents.
  • Onboarding: further enrollment details completed after a place is offered.
  • Payments: amount, month, method (POS or bank transfer), and the reference number you or the bank provide. We do not take card numbers on this website.
  • Website: technical logs and cookies used by WordPress to run the site and forms.

Why we use it

  • To review applications and contact you about a place
  • To complete official onboarding after an offer
  • To record registration (2,000 CVE) and monthly tuition (7,500 CVE) and email receipts
  • To look after the child at school (health, emergency, language, programme)
  • To meet school administration and legal duties in Cape Verde

We use the information because you asked us to consider an application, because we have a contract with you once a place is taken up, and because we have a duty of care to the child.

Children

Information about children is given by a parent or guardian. We treat it as sensitive, especially health and support details. We do not use children’s data for marketing.

Who we share with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed:

  • EIBP admissions and office staff
  • Teachers, once the child is enrolled, as needed for care and learning
  • The bank or POS provider for a payment you make
  • Authorities if the law requires it

Application and receipt emails are sent from our school systems to the addresses you give us.

How long we keep it

  • Unsuccessful or withdrawn applications: up to 24 months, then deleted unless you ask us to keep a waiting-list file.
  • Enrolled children: for the time they are at EIBP and as long as school and accounting records must be kept afterwards.
  • Payment references and receipts: for accounting records.

Your choices

A parent or guardian may ask to see, correct, or delete information we hold, or to withdraw an application. Write to [email protected]. We may need to keep some records where the law or unpaid fees require it.

Security

Forms and the staff desk sit on our WordPress site. Access to applications and payments should be limited to staff. Do not send extra identity documents over public social media if you can use the form, email, or the school visit instead.
